ZBRRA Committee 2009
April 20th, 2009
Another AGM has come and gone. A cosy venu at the Darnall club saw about 65 members vote in the the past executive on 18th December 2008. James Gilleran chose to commit himself to working for the new Neighbourhood Watch and several other committee asked to be released from their duties due to work constraints. They had seen us through a busy 2008 year and we felt confident in being able to handle the work load with fewer people.
It will be a demanding year in monitoring accountability from our two local municipalities – iLembe, with all its reticulation problems and KDM which seems to fall down badly in service delivery.. Several municipalities have declared disputes with their local authorities due to non-delivery. We hope this will not be necessary.
Various aspects such as the Zinkwazi Conservancy, under chairman Klaus Achtzehn, will need our attention in the new year. The rehabilitation of Zinkwazi – the removal of alien vegetation and the planting of indigenous trees are exciting projects. We also plan to arrange tours and visits to nearby places of ecological interest.
Here are the folk who care for your village. Please support them and make yourself known when in the village. Our website www.zbrra.org will keep you updated on our activities
